Western Dubuque Biodiesel

Tom Brooks is general manager of Western Dubuque Biodiesel, a 30 Million gallon production facility located in Farley, Iowa. He is a past chair of the Iowa Biodiesel Board. 

Brooks was hired by Griffin Industries in 1993 and served as a general manager for several locations within Florida before accepting a position with Perdue Farms. He served as general manager of the company’s flagship facility in Delaware. Brooks joined the biodiesel industry after 5 years with Perdue Farms.

He has more than 20 years of experience in the refinement and value-adding of animal fats and oils.

The son of a Kentucky row crop and livestock farmer, his first field was Ministerial Studies, before attending Texas A & M to study Aerospace Engineering. He was also an active member of the Corps of Cadets, and was commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force in 1984 as an Air Weapons Officer with a degree in Sciences.
