Carbon Capture Storage Team Lead, DNV

Laith leads the global carbon capture, utilization and storage team for DNV, a global safety and certification company that has been engaged in supporting the development of carbon capture and storage globally for over 15 years. Laith and is an energy industry veteran with over 20 years of international experience in the engineering, transformation, and decarbonization of energy assets across the value chain.

During the last 10 years, Laith’s career has focused on CCS, also supporting operators in the design and implementation of energy transition and decarbonization strategies. As a Senior Vice President in a previous role at Worley, he led the energy transition and products/technology group globally, covering areas such as responsible gas production, emissions reduction and CCS.

Laith earned a first-class degree in Economics from the UK’s Leicester University in 1993, and later went on to graduate from Henley Business School with an MBA in 2005. He now lives in the Chicago area with wife Laura, and teenage daughters Victoria and Sophia.
