Jake Swanson

President, High Yield Strategies and former policy advisor to Gov. Kim Reynolds

Jake Swanson serves as president of High Yield Strategies, a public & government affairs consulting firm specializing in economic development, agriculture, and energy-related work. He most recently served as the lead agriculture and energy policy advisor to Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds. In that role, he was the architect of the Governor’s Biofuels law, which set the stage for the single-largest expansion of biofuels access in Iowa history. Prior to joining the Governor’s office, Jake served as policy advisor and legislative liaison to Iowa Secretaries of Agriculture, Bill Northey and Mike Naig. Jake is a 7th-generation Iowan, and a graduate of Iowa State’s College of Agriculture and Life Sciences and holds a master’s degree from Emory University.
