Greg Hibner is the former President of Hawkeye Gold, owned by J.D. Heiskell & Co. Currently Greg is VP of Business Development for JDH. Hawkeye Gold markets and trades distillers grains from ethanol plants both domestically and internationally. Hawkeye also markets ethanol and DDGS and manages the logistics for Elite Octane in Atlantic, Iowa which is a JDH investment.
Greg has over 30 years of commodity and ethanol experience, having spent two decades in Tate & Lyle’s commodity division, where he gained experience in commodity risk management, corn origination, futures/options, product sales, logistics, and ethanol marketing. Prior to joining Hawkeye Gold, Greg was manager of Co-Product Sales and Trading at Tate & Lyle. Greg is also involved in agricultural investments, primarily farmland and ethanol.
Greg is a 1987 graduate of the University of Illinois at Champaign/Urbana and the 1994 Illinois Agricultural Leadership Program. Greg also serves on the Board of Directors for the US Grains Council. He and his wife, Kim, a school teacher, have two married sons Nathan (Yiyang) and Eric (Danielle). Nathan is a software engineer and Eric is a chemical engineer. They have recently become grandparents to Aaron and Theo.
